The biggest let down I think is the remote control but hopefully you will have a Harmony or other similar remote which should work a lot better. Out of the box it does not play UHD and BD's at 24Hz and this has to be selected in the setup menu and it will then (assuming your TV is up to it) play movies at the correct frame rate plus of course 50Hz or 60Hz according to the disc.

It is very directional and virtually has to be pointed at the machine for it to work (also very small). The Blu-Ray I am watching at the moment according to my AMP is playing at 4K(3840x2160) 23 Hz YCbCr444 36bitIt has a permanently attached mains lead which made me have to move everything to plug it in (have been using a Samsung one), the front is pretty plain with just a single LED, four buttons and the disc tray (which can be pushed shut to load a disc).

5 Stars for startup time - under 10 seconds. The player is good the remote although it works well is very small and lightweight being only 42x133x16mm and half of the 16mm is the battery compartment on the remote, although small it's easy to use Also before I start if you wan't Dolby Vision support, Wifi connectivity or any streaming apps you may wish to consider UBK90 4K Ultra HD HDR Dolby Vision Blu-Ray Player in Black .

3 Stars for standby power consumption which they say is over 1. Awesome bluray player BIG PROBLEM NO SWITCH ON THE UNITTO TURN OFF SO CINSTANT STANDBY RED LIGHT BIG LETDOWNBUT PICTURE IS FANTASTICK EVEN PLAYING A SD DVD. Hopefully your 4K TV still has fully functional apps for online applications. 6w which is still twice what my TV uses in standby.

With such a device it is difficult to just giving a single star rating so I shall try and rate by features. I should also say twice with my setup the picture has gone to a snowstorm and I have had to change inputs on the AMP to correct (sound keeps playing okay). My Ratings2 Stars for remote control.

With most discs it is silent and does not even have an annoying cooling fan. 5watts. 5 Stars for UHD 4K picture and sound (using on my LG 4K TV via my Pioneer Pioneer VSX-1131 A/V AMP)5 Stars for BD - 4K upscale which also looks pretty good. LOOKS LIKES A 4K BLURAY BUY TODAY I WOULD FOR £100.
